Mattress is classified as "Oversized Items" in Nagoya City. Fee: With springs: 2,000 yen / low-resilience, magnetic, or water mattresses: 500 yen / baby or Japanese-style tri-fold mattresses: 250 yen (for collection on or after October 1, 2026).
- 1 Apply to the Oversized Garbage Reception Center (toll-free 0120-758-530; from mobile phones or outside Aichi Prefecture, 052-950-2581) or online (deadline: 7 days before the collection day)
- 2 Buy fee payment stickers (available in 250 yen and 500 yen denominations) at designated stores such as convenience stores and supermarkets, or at an Environmental Office (online applications can also be paid by cashless payment)
- 3 Write your name or reception number on the sticker and attach it where it is easy to see (if you chose cashless payment for an online application, write the reception number (a name is not accepted) on a sheet of paper and attach it), and put the item out at the designated place by 8:00 a.m. on the collection day (in principle, collection is from each household)

- From October 1, 2026, items that do not fit in a 45-liter designated bag are Oversized Items (until September 30, items exceeding 30 cm square)
- Mattresses with springs include mattresses with legs
- In Chikusa, Naka, Mizuho, Nakagawa, Minato, Minami, Meito, and Tempaku wards, on the applicable days of the week, spring mattresses are collected by a separate vehicle (the collection day is the same as for other Oversized Items; they are collected on the same day, so leave them out as they are)
