Important Notes
Collection schedules and sorting rules may change. Please check the official website for the latest information.
- Metal, ceramic and glass plant pots are Non-burnable Garbage; plastic plant pots are Plastic Resources and wooden plant pots are Burnable Garbage
- Take planter soil to a collection point where private businesses collect and recycle it. If you cannot use such a collection point, put it out as Burnable Garbage (up to one bag at a time, light enough to carry with one hand)
- [Temporary measure from May 25 through October 30 (Fri), 2026] Only if you cannot obtain designated bags, you may use a colorless transparent bag or a semi-transparent bag whose contents are easily visible (10 to 45 liters). In that case, attach a paper reading "不燃ごみ" (Non-burnable Garbage) to the bag or write it clearly on the bag (bags without this label are not collected; colored bags such as plastic shopping bags or milky-white bags cannot be used). From November 2 (Mon), 2026, put it in a designated household non-burnable garbage bag. The city asks residents to plan to use up, no later than October 30 (Fri), 2026, any colorless transparent or semi-transparent bags already bought for the temporary measure, or to use them for other purposes
