- The city collects three types: lithium-ion, nickel-metal hydride, and nickel-cadmium batteries. Lead-acid batteries cannot be collected by the city; consult the store where you bought them or the manufacturer
- In the Shonan area the category is "Dangerous and Hazardous Items" (once a month, by 8 AM on collection day). Take them to a rechargeable battery recycling cooperating store where possible. If the battery cannot be removed from a product, attach a note saying so and put out the whole product as Dangerous and Hazardous Items. If swollen, take it directly to Clean Center Shirasagi
