Important Notes

Collection schedules and sorting rules may change. Please check the official website for the latest information.

  • Swollen batteries (10 cm square or smaller only) can explode or catch fire: do not put them out at the collection point; insulate them and bring them directly to the Clean Center counter (collected free of charge). If a swollen product's battery is hard to remove on its own, do not force it out or take the product apart; bring the product as it is
  • Do not force them apart or puncture them. Do not force a built-in battery out of a product; put the whole product out as Hazardous Waste
  • Batteries without a recycling mark are accepted only if 10 cm square or smaller; for larger ones, ask a specialist store
  • Free collection covers only battery packs and mobile batteries. Electronic devices with built-in batteries brought to the Clean Center are charged (300 yen per 10 kg)
  • Batteries from some manufacturers cannot be collected in the recycling BOX. Batteries from manufacturers not on the list of accepted companies can be put out as Hazardous Waste or brought to the Clean Center counter (collected free of charge)
  • Some items brought to the Clean Center counter may not be accepted on the spot
