Wood is classified as Non-burnable Garbage / Burnable Garbage / Oversized Items / Not Collected.

Disposal Steps

1. Put small pieces such as disposable chopsticks, toothpicks, bamboo skewers and twigs (each 2 cm or less in diameter) in a designated garbage bag as burnable garbage
2. Pruned branches and scrap wood over 2 cm and up to 10 cm in diameter per piece, wooden boards over 0.5 cm and up to 10 cm thick (scrap wood, plywood, concrete-form plywood, etc.) and dismantled wooden items up to 10 cm in diameter (thickness) are non-burnable garbage. Attach a garbage disposal ticket to pieces 1 m or less long that do not fit in a designated garbage bag
3. Pruned branches and scrap wood can be bundled if each piece is 1 m or less long and 10 cm or less in diameter; attach a 100 yen garbage disposal ticket per bundle with a bundle diameter of 50 cm or less (up to 8 bundles at a time)
4. Pieces longer than 1 m are Oversized Items. Apply by phone to the Oversized Garbage Reception Center (☎011-380-6000) and attach an oversized garbage sticker
