- Ask the manufacturer to collect it (if there is no manufacturer to collect it, or it is self-built, ask the PC 3R Promotion Association; a fee applies)
- Laptops and tablet PCs are "used small appliances" and can also go in a small appliance collection box (if they fit the 40 cm × 20 cm slot; delete your personal data first)
Important Notes
Collection schedules and sorting rules may change. Please check the official website for the latest information.
- The city does not collect PCs. Do not put desktop PCs or LCD monitors out at garbage collection points
- Collection by the manufacturer is free if the PC has a PC Recycle mark, and paid if it does not
- Laptops and other items with a built-in rechargeable battery cannot be put out at garbage collection points (not even as Non-burnable Garbage)
- The small appliance collection boxes are at 15 places: eight public facilities, including Ishinomaki City Hall and branch offices, and seven supermarkets and other stores in the city (available only during each facility's or store's opening hours)
- If the battery cannot be removed easily, put the whole device in the small appliance collection box. Tape over the terminals of a removed rechargeable battery and take it to a rechargeable battery collection box at a public facility. Dry-cell batteries go to Hazardous Waste
- If you are unsure how to sort something, contact the Environment Future Promotion Division (Kankyo Mirai Suishin-ka)
