Important Notes

Collection schedules and sorting rules may change. Please check the official website for the latest information.

  • The collection boxes are at eight public facilities, including Ishinomaki City Hall and branch offices (available only during each facility's opening hours; there are none at supermarkets or other private stores)
  • Accepted: lithium-ion, nickel-metal hydride and nickel-cadmium batteries. Mobile batteries too
  • Dry-cell batteries go to Hazardous Waste. Button batteries, coin batteries and lead-acid batteries are not collected by the city (consult the manufacturer or a retailer)
  • Small appliances whose battery cannot be removed (heated tobacco devices, wireless earphones, handheld fans, etc.) go into the small appliance collection box as they are
  • Even with the separate collection of "Plastics" (from October 2026), do not put rechargeable batteries or products that use them in "Plastics" bags (they can catch fire)
