Disposal Steps

Important Notes

- Aerosol (spray-type) fire extinguishing sprays are not fire extinguishers and are not covered. Empty the contents completely, do not puncture the can, and put it out as "Spray Cans" (remove the plastic cap and put it out as "Plastic Resources"). If the contents cannot be fully emptied, consult your ward's Resources and Waste Recycling Bureau office
- However, the affected aerosol fire extinguishing sprays involved in rupture accidents must not be put out as "Spray Cans"; contact the manufacturer (check the accident details and affected products on the Fire Bureau website)
- Check collection methods, drop-off points and which extinguishers are covered by recycling with the Fire Extinguisher Recycling Promotion Center Co., Ltd.
