Important Notes

Collection schedules and sorting rules may change. Please check the official website for the latest information.

  • Items with a built-in rechargeable battery cannot be put out at garbage collection points (not even as Non-burnable Garbage). They can cause fires in garbage trucks and processing facilities
  • The small appliance collection boxes are at 15 places: eight public facilities, including Ishinomaki City Hall and branch offices, and seven supermarkets and other stores in the city (available only during each facility's or store's opening hours)
  • If the battery cannot be removed easily, put the whole device in the small appliance collection box. Tape over the terminals of a removed rechargeable battery and take it to a rechargeable battery collection box at a public facility. Dry-cell batteries go to Hazardous Waste
  • Even with the separate collection of "Plastics" (from October 2026), do not put tablets in "Plastics" bags (items that run on batteries or electricity are not accepted)
  • If you are unsure how to sort something, contact the Environment Future Promotion Division (Kankyo Mirai Suishin-ka)
